Maribel Balbin

Her leadership roles in civic organizations and professional career in public administration, and Maribel’s readiness to offer an opinion, have made her a popular, reliable, and respected guest on a number of television and radio programs.
Maribel founded Public Affairs Concepts in 2005 and the Miami Women Speakers Bureau in 2020.
ADVOCACY
Maribel has a storied history of advocacy on behalf of voters in South Florida, honing her skills during the famous “hanging-chad” election cycle of 2000. As a member of the League of Women Voters, Maribel was an official monitor when the Supreme Court of the United States ended the recount in Florida and effectively awarded the Office of the President to George W. Bush.
Melissa Hunsberger

Melissa is a professional business marketing consultant moving people, products, and brands forward. She is widely recognized for her expertise in driving business growth, user engagement, and revenue. Melissa works with startups, mid-sized businesses, and individuals to create strategic online marketing plans and detailed buyer personas because how the heck can you properly market anything if you don't know who the ideal customer is.
Melissa brings the advantage of having worked on both the agency and client-side of marketing and has a demonstrated history of working in the industry for business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies. Over the past eight years, Melissa has helped to train and guide marketing teams in best practices and present new strategies to leadership. She has collaborated with thought leaders to commission original market research to promote business capabilities as part of strategic public relations campaigns.
Susan Windmiller
PUBLIC AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS CONSULTANT AND STRATEGIST
As a veteran public servant, Susan has an extensive portfolio of career highlights spanning more than 30 years of dedicated experience in criminal justice and law enforcement; public policy and advocacy; and intergovernmental and legislative affairs for Miami-Dade County in South Florida, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S.
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
For more than a decade, Susan oversaw the Miami-Dade Police Department’s (MDPD) intergovernmental affairs on the federal, state, and local levels, by advising MDPD Command Staff and local officials of critical legislation that was key to advancing and/or impacting the county and state law enforcement practices. Susan is a keen strategist whose skill and acumen helped raise the profile of the Miami-Dade Police Department to be highly sought out for law enforcement policy issues and best practices. She has authored extensive pieces of local legislation on a wide range of law enforcement subjects and been responsible for helping to secure more than $65 million in federal, state, and private funding for law enforcement programs.
